Back in December, I wished so hard NOT to go scuba diving that all flights in Spain were cancelled. Yeah, it was kind of a bummer, but we turned our sour grapes into vino by taking a trip to Spanish wine country. Here’s a little look back at the exotic trip to the Canary Islands that got replaced by a chilly journey around Ribera del Duero.

Thanks, chica. I think we ought to make one featuring us both…and perhaps cookies too ;).

Hi! I love your blog…My husband’s family is from Spain (Soria) so we visit almost every summer. We will be there this summer with some friends from the States and are looking to do some wine tasting in La Ribera del Duero but I don’t know what vineyards we should visit and since you did this post, I was wondering if you knew of any good spots (for food and wine, of course)!

Sorry for the ultra-late reply! I wish I could make some additional recommendations, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve done wine tasting in Ribera del Duero. Emilio Moro is a classic, though, and I enjoyed tasting there, so that’s always a good option. I’m sure your husband knows the area quite well, but if you haven’t been to the village of Medinaceli, be sure to make a stop there (since it’s in Soria). Have a great trip!
